LR Trovillion standing by a wall

I grew up in Massachusetts and studied Russian Language and Literature at a small college in Boston. I soon realized I would have to leave my New England roots to find employment in my field, which is how I ended up in Maryland. During an almost 40-year career in intelligence, I earned a living as a translator, language teacher, intelligence analyst and reporter (not to mention some less glamorous positions to make ends meet). But it was moving to Maryland that got me back into my love for horses and before long I purchased a small farm where I now live with my husband, horses, dog, and some very entitled cats.

Horses as healers inspired my first trilogy of books, the Young Adult Maryland Equestrian series. This award-winning series explores the power of animals to change people’s lives. The books tell the stories of three different teens facing adversity in real life situations, with a dash of the supernatural. Remember, you never outgrow a great horse story.

Recently I’ve turned to more traditional mystery. The Murphy’s Law Farm Mysteries combines my love of horses with my experience in the intelligence field. The Jazz Age Cold Case Mysteries taps into my obsession with the Roaring Twenties and murder mysteries, examined through a modern lens. I’ve also enjoyed exploring my Irish roots by attempting to learn Irish Gaelic and reading about the fantastical creatures of Celtic mythology. I blended these into a contemporary setting in the Irish Legends Mysteries

Enough about me. It is you, the reader, who is most important. Although I like to imagine I’m queen of my author realm, creating characters and situations out of thin air to suit my tastes, I do want to please and delight my readers as well. I would love to hear what you liked, didn’t like, or any questions you may have. Or just say hello.
