Interview for The Horse Episode of Fit to be Fabulous Show
There is something for everyone in this episode of the show FIT to be FABULOUS: The Horse Episode, hosted by Brenda von Rautenkranz. I was honored to be interviewed by Brenda for the show (starting at about 37:41) about my Maryland Equestrian Novel series of books. We chatted about how horses inspire us, amaze us, and even help to heal us! Even though I was really nervous during the filming, she set me at ease as I shared stories about the horses in my life, what inspired the books, and the creative process. All the while her two labs slept at our feet 🙂 Please check it out and let me know what you think!

There’s much more in store during this show. Brenda and her husband, Walter, operate an Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Center called vR Growth and Learning so in the first segment they talk about and demonstrate some of the techniques and services offered based on the EAGALA model of horse therapy. I was impressed to learn that this mode of horse therapy is certified by many recognized and respected mental health organizations. Clients may suffer from a number of complaints needing attention or may be part of a corporate team building exercise.
The next segment is especially for Eventers and Racehorse enthusiasts! It is an in-depth interview with the prime movers behind the new Fair Hill Equine Facility upgrades and improvements. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources together with the Maryland Sports Commission/ CEO Fair Hill Organizing Committee answer all Brenda’s questions about the big plans for this treasure in Cecil County, including plans for a 5-star event.
